Our Services
Concept Development
As part of our design service we can offer a concept design stage; it sets the agenda and delivers 'the vision'. We start the design and development process with quick hand drawn sketching which explore form, function, colour and ergonomic interaction; creating a flow of ideas to instantly evaluate against one another.
CAD Development
We can produce standard fully accurate 3D IGES files ready to be used directly with tool makers and the production of your mould tool. As always, 3D design can be fine tuned and CAD data altered, but before any production tools are commissioned, we require all 3D data and 2D drawings to be signed off by our clients. We would recommend that an accurate prototyping of your product / moulding be produced before any expensive tooling is cut. All manufacturing detailing will be proven including mould draft, split lines, gate and ejector positions. It’s a complicated process to the untrained individual, so please call for a simpler and or more in-depth overview. Put simply, most products bought and sold around the world today would have gone through a similar process.
3D Prototyping
Using the CAD files we create, we can output to a variety of rapid prototype techniques. Some prototypes are required to be 100% accurate full size representations of the final design, in the correct material for safety testing, isolated performance testing and to ensure your product is ready for manufacture. We have many quality assured suppliers we trust and have unrivalled experience who can assist in creating such prototypes
Tooling
Once the production CAD has been created and signed off tooling can be commissioned. We have preferred tool makers who we trust and get the highest of service from, however if you would prefer to use an external party, this is not a problem.
2D Drawings
Another output from our 3D production CAD is to produce full size or scaled 2D CAD drawings. These detailed drawings provide critical information for manufacture, including dimensions, material selection, finishes and tolerances. Sometimes our clients like to review 2D elevations of their product at the development stage to analyse certain design features, often these are evaluated and create a good insight into the decision making process. Many manufacturers now read and prefer to receive 3D IGES CAD files, however we can still work with 2D drawings you provide.
